Resource conservation through
systematic wise usage of our natural and human resources to improve the
economy while maintaining quality in the natural resource base.

resources while maintaining quality in the natural resource base and
improving the economy through properly managed development.

Down East
RC&D is...
- Local people working together to complete actions
that wisely utilize the area’s resources and enhance the lives of
area residents.
- Local people working together to set their own
priorities and help themselves.
- Supported by a national program of the US
Department of Agriculture and administered by the Natural Resources Conservation
Service.
- A 'Grass Roots' organization! The RC&D
area is managed by a volunteer council. Active resource committees
provide for extended participation by people with diverse interests.
- Comprised of partners made up of numerous local
organizations that all strive to optimize conservation and
development efforts. Collaboration is the key!
